Houston, TX – June 2025 – USA MedPro was honored to welcome officials from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) during their recent visit to Houston, part of a broader effort to highlight investments aimed at increasing disaster preparedness in public facilities across the country.
HUD Secretary Scott Turner toured the East End Maker Hub, including TXRX Labs and USA MedPro’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, as part of his announcement of a $314 million Community Development Block Grant for disaster recovery and infrastructure resilience in Texas. The initiative, unveiled in partnership with the City of Houston, is designed to better equip cities with tools and technologies that can protect critical infrastructure and services during future emergencies.
During the tour, Secretary Turner and local officials got a firsthand look at USA MedPro’s commitment to American-made healthcare products. From raw material handling to quality control procedures, the visit spotlighted how local manufacturing—especially in the medical space—can play a pivotal role in national disaster response.
Founded in 2019 in response to critical gaps in the PPE supply chain, USA MedPro produces ASTM Level 3 surgical masks using US-sourced materials. The company’s mission aligns closely with the goals outlined during HUD’s tour: strengthening domestic manufacturing, supporting local economies, and ensuring communities are equipped to withstand crises—from pandemics to hurricanes.
